1) Sealcoat Application. One of the best ways to protect your asphalt and make it last longer is applying a sealcoat. You prevent water and UV damage as sealcoating provide a barrier between the asphalt and the elements. Any cracks or irregularities are filled in the surface. After installation, sealcoating can be applied as soon as the asphalt has cooled down
2) Heat Lamps. Using a heat lamp can help to speed up the drying process if you live in a cold climate. Leave it on for several hours after placing the heat lamp over the asphalt. This contributes to evaporating any moisture in the pavement and make it dry faster.
3) Prevent Traffic. It’s important to keep traffic off of it, both vehicles and pedestrians, until it is completely dry as much as you may be eager to start using your new asphalt. You can damage the surface and cause tire marks by resuming traffic on the asphalt before it is dry.
As it takes some time to dry, you should avoid using the asphalt driveway before it is dry. Though you can try to speed up the drying, it is better to wait for the driveway to dry completely.
